Giving BackResource Recovery & Recycling

S.U.N.R.I.S.E. started 10 years ago with four people. We now have 32 employees whose goal is to reduce the carbon footprint of this region. We don’t just talk about recycling, we walk the talk: As an example, the S.U.N.R.I.S.E. office was constructed entirely from recycled products.

It is our mission at S.U.N.R.I.S.E. to be leaders, living by example and key players in the stewardship of our natural resources and living green. All while offering the customer the best value in year round services in the Telluride region.

Our mission statement
We strive to be environmentally aware for our neighbors and clients, while offering the most cost effective services. It is our goal to reduce the amount of waste for disposal, save space in landfills, be more energy-efficient and conserve natural resources.

Giving back to the community
S.U.N.R.I.S.E. reinvests in the community every year with “Green Futures & Sustainability” Scholarships to Telluride Students. Year-to-date over $15,000 has been donated to Green Futures & Sustainability for the youth of Telluride. S.U.N.R.I.S.E. continues to give yearly to numerous other local charities such as the contribution of approximately $40,000 in man hours and equipment to build the new gravity bike park in the Mountain Village, summer of 2009.

Owner, Jonathan Greenspan has been a resident since 1991 and Mountain Village volunteer Fire Fighter and wild land Fire Fighter for over 10 years.

An active member of the Mountain Village community, Jonathan is an elected member of the Mountain Village Town Council and has been in this position for six and a half years. He is also an elected member of TMVOA. Along with having more than 2,000 members, TMVOA operates the gondola, weighs in on local politics, sponsors, and events and hands out piles of grants.
Jonathan has also served two terms on the Mountain Village Metropolitan District Board prior to its elimination in 2006.
