Waste reduction
At SUNRISE, construction and demolition (C&D) debris is processed at the demolition site or at our yard. We recycle and re-use as much material as possible. Some of the biomass material can be ground into mulch and other re-useable biomass. In the future, SUNRISE also hopes to redirect recovered biomass to energy production. The most common C&D wastes are bricks, clean wood, drywall, shingles, furniture, and rubber. Waste debris that will be directed to the landfill can be ground into small pieces of less than two inches, conserving both dumpster space, landfill space, and money. When possible, construction and demolition debris should be sorted before being disposed. SUNRISE can do this for you.
Some alternatives to disposal for construction and demolition debris:

SUNRISE also has a demolition/deconstruction arm of its Resource-Recovery Division to help you reduce the amount of waste for disposal, recovery re-usable material, reduce your carbon footprint, and conserve natural resources. We can systematically deconstruct any building of any size and recycle/re-use a significant portion of the building. Items that are not able to be recycled will be placed into a waste reduction program to limit the amount of trash containers going to a landfill. We can also package up any reusable items and sell them to buyers on your behalf.
